Dariusz Laszczyk

Lawyer | Football law specialist | CEO of Laszczyk Football Group

I met Mr. Marcin Gabor more than 7 years ago, when we started our cooperation with small legal support projects. From the very beginning he appeared as an extremely competent, systematic, substantive person, and above all as a person with a clearly outlined – importantly, created from start to finish by himself – vision, mission and goal in terms of football professionalization in the broadest sense. The collection of all these qualities distinguishes Mr. Marcin remarkably from the majority of people in the so-called “football environment.” One could even say that he is a man who “does not fit” into the football scheme, and certainly a person who can do a lot of good for European football and make revolutionary changes.

The direction outlined by the FDI, i.e. the professionalization of football through education and the development of Clubs, is one hundred percent identical to the vision and mission of my business, which is extremely valuable to me.

Christoph Semmler

Goalkeeper Coach | Fortuna Düsseldorf

I have come to know Marcin Gabor as a very competent professional in the field of football, who is able to listen to his interlocutors, open up to their opinions, and ultimately convey his own content beliefs. It is a great pleasure to work with Marcin, because he is a well-organized man with structured characteristics of action. He knows what he wants and how to translate it into practice.

At one time I conducted – at his invitation – a seminar on the game and working with goalkeepers. The organization of this event was at a very high level, so I was able to concentrate solely on the content presented. I am grateful to Marcin for the opportunity to speak in Warsaw, but also for his detailed feedback, which helped me on many levels.

I wish Marcin Gabor and the entire FDI an excellent start and much success. I realize that there is a lot of time and work put behind the idea of the Football Development Institute, but I know Marcin and I know that if such a project could have been created, it was in his head.

I met Marcin Gabor at the age of 16. At that time I was first included in Cracovia’s first team. Also thanks to his recommendation. From the beginning he impressed me with his knowledge and perfect preparation for training. Without a doubt – he is a coach full of passion and ambition, who has a great gift: coach Gabor is able to “infect” the whole team with his football philosophy and way of playing. As a young football player, I was lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such an open-minded and committed coach.

I worked with Marcin Gabor at Cracovia. It was a wonderful time for me, because we were promoted to the Ekstraklasa together. For me, he was not only a coach, but also a best friend. I could talk to him about anything – including private matters. Of course, most of the conversations were on football topics. How can we improve the team’s game? How can I develop myself? From the first day I trusted Marcin Gabor, because he is simply a good coach, with a precise vision of his ideas. And on top of that, he’s a good person. He helped me a lot.

For coach Gabor, tactical aspects are the most important. He was the first to show us and work out how to play in a structured way near our own penalty area and how to carry every action – based on a specific structure – forward. Thanks to a clear plan and good training work, we were able to accomplish tasks on the field. In Poland, we were referred to as “the second Barcelona,” because this way of playing – based on keeping the ball for a long time – is still rare in Europe today. He helped us understand football better. Thanks to coach Gabor, I understood that with clever positioning and keeping the ball, you can win matches in a controlled way. I can only say one thing: thank you very much!
